Description: All employers must identify
the hazardous chemicals they use and develop a hazard communication program
(HAZCOM) to inform their employees about those chemicals. However, failing to
maintain a written HAZCOM program is one of the most common OSHA violations.
This course introduces you to Part 1910 Subpart Z - Toxic and Hazardous
Substances - 1910.1200 Hazard Communication and the Globally Harmonized System
(GHS) for labeling. Written program requirements, labeling, and Safety Data
Sheet (SDS) maintenance and training will be discussed. A sample written hazard
communication program is also reviewed.
