First Aid, AED and CPR Train the Trainer

Course Aim:

The aim of the course is to understand the importance of performing First Aid in the workplace and to identify its significance in preventing the progression of serious injuries. The assessment starts first by identifying the hazards in the area, then understand the importance of implicating the Chain of Survival, following hygiene and health procedures during and after treatment, and the practical implication and discussion of different techniques for different types of emergencies. Throughout the entire course, the trainer will be taught to stress on the importance of each technique to be done correctly, to teach the trainer how to engage with their respective audience or attendees and to stress on practical implication of these techniques, and how to make sure every attendant is keen on learning First Aid properly.

Course Content:

·         Identify the main hazards of the workplace which can lead to an emergency occurring.

·         Distinguish the difference between different hazards and how they cause different emergencies.

·         Understand the importance of hygiene and health to know how to protect yourself from any disease.

·         Demonstrate and know how to perform resuscitation techniques such as CAB, CPR, and AED.

·         Demonstrate and know how to assist someone who is actively choking and how to help yourself.

·         Understand the differences between external and internal bleeding.

·         Know how to stop external bleeding by using different methods depending on the severity of the blood loss.

·         Identify internal bleeding and how to stop it.

·         Identify what shock is, the causes of shock, and how to stop its progression.

·         Distinguish between heat exhaustion and heat stroke and how to prevent its progression.

·         Identify diabetic emergencies and how to intervene.

·         Distinguish between open and closed fractures and know how to treat them. 

·         Identify a dislocation.

·         Identify Neck and Spinal Cord injuries and how to prevent its progression.

·         How to lift the person away from a dangerous area if they have neck and spinal cord injuries.

·         Understanding effective and engaging presentation skills.

·         Know how to create a presentation presenting first aid topics and how to effectively gain the attention of your audience.

·         How to maintain control of a session.

·         How to deal with potential difficulties.
