Hazard Communication Train the Trainer

Course Aim:

The aim of the course is to assess the trainee on the importance of identifying hazards in the workplace, particularly those that are chemical based. Students are assessed on the different types of hazards, how they can occur based on the nature of the workplace, and the steps to the HAZCOM Plan. The HAZCOM plan is then implemented as controls that the student is taught and then there are adequate examples of it in the workplace. Throughout the entire course, the trainer will be taught to stress on the importance of the course objectives to be done correctly, to teach the trainer how to engage with their respective audience or attendees and to stress on practical implication of these objectives, and how to follow them effectively to avoid accidents or injuries due to chemical exposure in the workplace.

·         Definition of hazard and risk.

·         Identifying different hazards and risks in the workplace.

·         Understanding how these hazards and risks can affect everyone differently.

·         Definition of HAZCOM.

·         Steps of HAZCOM Program.

·         How the HAZCOM Program is implemented.

·         How to avoid hazard and risks of chemical exposure based on the HAZCOM Program.

·         Implementing the Hierarchy of Control in the HAZCOM Program.

·         Understanding the MSDS and its importance to decrease chemical hazards and injuries.

·         How to use the MSDS.

·         Identifying chemical signs and labels on the product.

·         What to do in an emergency and how to leave an area which contains a chemical hazard.

·         Understanding effective and engaging presentation skills.

·         Know how to create a presentation presenting first aid topics and how to effectively gain the attention of your audience.

·         How to maintain control of a session.

·         How to maintain potential difficulties.
